Wedding Make Up vs Daily Make Up

January 24, 2017

There is a clear difference between wedding makeup and daily makeup. You can absolutely NOT follow the same makeup routine or products that you use on an everyday basis. You need to have a picture perfect face for your wedding, which means that you want to look done up. However, looking ‘done up’ does not mean that you look like a drag queen.

Before your wedding day, you need to get a good, relaxing facial. You can book this a few days before the wedding, whenever there is time in your busy schedule. Getting a facial will really lift up your skin and prepare it for what is to come ahead. Weddings can be stressful and therefore getting a facial is very crucial! Moving on, wedding makeup should always be started with a primer. A primer does more than you think, so don’t avoid it. It blurs your pores, minimizes their appearance and ensures that your makeup lasts all day long.

For your wedding day, opt for a full-coverage matte foundation. Your face needs to be ready for photographs at all times, which is why you need a flawless finish. Hide all those imperfections and don’t be afraid to use color correctors. Also, make sure to brighten the area under your eyes; this step is really crucial. A translucent powder is a must when it comes to wedding makeup. It will not only brighten your face up, but also lock in that foundation so that it can last as long as you do.

You might not like too much color incorporated into your daily makeup look, but the same can’t be done with wedding makeup. Bridal makeup should have enough color so that it can compensate for the whiteness of your dress. You don’t want to end up looking like a ghost, right? You need to add color to your cheeks, eyes and lips so that you stand out. A great trick to making your eyes instantly pop is by putting on eye lashes. You can go for any eyelash style you like, but try to opt for something that isn’t too natural. It’s your big day, so dramatic eyelashes won’t matter! Plus, they look super good in pictures.

Don’t go too out with your look, but try to keep the focus on only some elements on your look. If you want your eyes to be the center of attention, then go for a nice, subtle lip shade. Oh, and we almost forgot to mention; your brows need to be on fleek at your wedding day!

Have fun at your wedding!
